“Learning to live more consciously”

Ditch the take-away coffee cup

We all love a big hot cup of coffee on the morning, especially if it’s a delicious creamy Coco Quench Latte. With our busy lives, this usually means a quick take-away on the way to work, school or uni. However, did you know… It is estimated Australians use 1 billion disposable coffee cups each year. That’s approximately 2,700,000 paper coffee cups thrown out every day! That is A LOT of waste going to landfill. To help reduce this crazy number, many people are switching to reusable coffee cups and you can too! Here are three of our favourite brands,

Switch to non-dairy milk

Non-dairy milks are a great alternative to dairy products. Not only do they taste great but they have a smaller carbon footprint compared to dairy counterparts. We have an extensive list of non-dairy milks that we produce at our factory in Drouin, Gippsland, Victoria. From coconut to rice milk, we’ll have you covered! Check out our list of non-dairy milks here.

Reduce single use plastic

Single use plastics of all kind are some of the worst contributors to landfill in the world. Wherever we can, reducing our use of single use plastic is  a great way to make a positive change and do your part for the environment. We recently came across these reusable wax wraps,  that we now use in place of foil and cling film/ glad wrap. They are perfect for wrapping up containers to pop into the fridge.

Buy in bulk

Often when we go shopping, we do not have a choice over the amount of packaging that is used in the products we purchase. This is where stores like Source bulk foods are a great way to reduce the amount of packaging we purchase. The Source allows you to bring your own containers and fill up on all your pantry essentials. According to their website, over 300,000kgs of packaging waste is saved from going to landfill by buying food in bulk. It’s not realistic to get rid of food packaging all together, however when we reduce where we can every little bit helps!
