Homemade Teriyaki Nut Clusters

A simple, delicious and a nutritious snack. These savoury teriyaki nut clusters are a fantastic snack to take to work or to grab as a handful on the run before school pick up.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups mixed nuts
  • 2 tbsp Pureharvest Organic Tamari
  • 2 tbsp Pureharvest Organic Rice Syrup
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • Pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, and red pepper flakes (if desired). Mix well.

  3. Add the mixed nuts to the bowl and toss until they are well coated with the teriyaki sauce.

  4. Spread the coated nuts evenly on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the nuts are golden brown and crispy. Make sure to stir the nuts halfway through the baking time to ensure even cooking.

  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the nut clusters cool completely on the sheet.
    Once cooled, you can break the nut clusters into smaller pieces if desired.

  7. Store the homemade teriyaki nut clusters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
