Vegan Apple + Pear Crumble

Warm, spiced, and naturally sweetened, this crumble is the perfect comfort dessert. Made with seasonal fruit and enriched with the goodness of our Apple + Pear Juice, it’s topped with a golden oat-nut crumble that’s crunchy, cozy, and completely plant-based. Serve it fresh from the oven with a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream or a dollop of dairy-free yogurt for the ultimate winter treat.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 3 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 3 pears, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 cup Pureharvest Organic Juice
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp corn starch / arrowroot powder

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans work well)
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C.

  2. Prepare the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced apples and pears, coconut sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract.

    Dissolve the cornstarch or arrowroot powder in the apple and pear juice and whisk to combine, then pour it into the apple mixture to help thicken the filling.

    Transfer the filling to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.

  3. Prepare the crumble topping: In a separate mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, chopped nuts, coconut sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.

    Pour the melted coconut oil over the mixture and stir until everything is well combined and crumbly.

    Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling in the baking dish.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

    Let the crumble cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm, optionally with a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream or a dollop of dairy-free yogurt.
