Brown Rice

Ingredients

  • 100 g coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Pureharvest Organic Rice Syrup,
  • 120 g porridge oats
  • 100 g plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 100 g dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180⁰C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Mix together the rolled oats, flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together the coconut oil and Rice Malt Syrup. Add the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.

  3. Roll the mixture into walnut shaped balls. Flatten each ball slightly and place on the lined baking tray. Ensure that you leave about 3cm between each biscuit as they will spread in the oven.

  4. Place into the oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Once golden brown, remove from the oven and allow to cool on the tray.

  5. Time to decorate

  6. We melted the chocolate and poured half into round chocolate moulds to create the "head" of the spiders. If you don't have a chocolate mould you can easily use a round Lindt ball or chocolate button here instead. Spoon the remaining melted chocolate into a piping bag and drizzle around the "spider head" into 8 legs .

  7. Allow to set completely and serve. The kids will love these fun spider cookies.
