How to perfect the Sunday Reset: 5 steps to a better you.

Are the “Sunday Scaries” a regular part of your weekend? Then you need a Sunday reset. Sunday is the perfect day to reset your mind, body and spirit. It gives you a chance to unwind and reflect on what you’ve accomplished during the week and plan out your goals for the week ahead.

If you’re looking for some inspiration on how to spend your Sunday, here 5 things we recommend including in your Sunday reset.

  1. Exercise

It doesn’t matter if it’s a walk around your neighbourhood, a long run outside or a heavy session in the gym — any physical activity will help release endorphins, which can make you feel happier and more alert. Plus, exercise lowers stress levels and boosts energy levels.

2. Meal Prep

Sunday meal prep can be a great way to save money, eat healthier and take stress out of your week. You can make big batches of food on Sunday that will last you all week, so you don’t have to cook every night. You’ll feel organised and ready to

But if you’re not careful, it can also be a total time suck. Be well prepared and have a solid plan or your meal prep session could turn into an all-day affair, leaving you with little time left over for anything else.

3. Meditation

Meditation can help quiet your mind by focusing on one thing at a time (breathing) instead of multitasking all day long. It’s time to quiet your mind and relieve a bit of stress. If you’re new to meditation, start with five minutes per day until it becomes part of your routine. You’ll notice that after just a few days, it becomes easier to “check out” during meditation sessions as well as in everyday life. We recommend using a guided meditation app to start, it makes it a whole lot simpler.

4. Self-care

Everything on this list is some kind of self-care, but this is about reflection and goal setting. This doesn’t have to be a complicated task, it’s as simple as sitting down and having a good old think!

Take some time out of your Sunday to reflect on the week that’s been and all you’ve achieved. Think about what you did well, what you could have done better, and then set some new goals for the week ahead. It’s the perfect way to set yourself up for a productive week.

5. Make sure to get your sleep.

This one sounds obvious, but a great night’s sleep goes a long way to having a great week. Sleep helps your body recover from stress, regulate hormones, and burn calories. It also helps with memory, cognitive function, and overall well-being.

But getting enough sleep isn’t always easy, especially when you’re trying to juggle work, family and other responsibilities. So how do you get in those much-needed hours? Here are five tips to help you reset your sleep cycle:

1. Go to bed at the same time every night

2. Don’t exercise right before bed

3. Turn off electronics at least an hour before bedtime

4. Expose yourself to natural light in the morning

5. Have a relaxing bedtime routine

By building these small, regular habits over time, you can improve your mental wellbeing and ensure that you start the week well-prepared.
