Salted Caramel Brownie
Salted Caramel BrownieServes: 12 brownies Prep Time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 16 minutes
Salted caramel has to be one of the best flavour combinations out there, do you agree? These brownies are our take on the ever so popular salted caramel craze. These brownies use our sesame salted caramel sauce, which is a fantastic dairy free version of a typical caramel sauce.
These brownies are soft and gooey in the centre and the caramel goes slightly chewy on top – providing the most heavenly brownie ever, if we do say so ourselves 🙂
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
In a medium sized bowl beat together the coconut oil and sweetener (maple syrup and coconut sugar). Add the eggs one at a time and beat well to combine. Add the vanilla extract
In a separate bowl combine the almond meal, buckwheat flour, cacao, salt and baking soda.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
Pour the mixture into the pre-lined baking tray.
Dollop large spoonfuls of the sesame caramel sauce into the brownie mixture. Get a knife and swirl the caramel sauce through the brownie mixture to create a marbled effect.
Place into the preheated oven for 16-18 minutes or until just cooked through. Cook for slightly less time if you want a more gooey textured brownie.
